Mujeeb Peerzada Advocate on behalf of officials of the corporation submitted before the court that officials were ignored while the salaries of non-official cadre were raised.
Munir A Malik Advocate, counsel for the HBFC argued that the corporation is running into losses and it has not the sufficient funds to raise the salaries of officials according to their grades.
The court said that it has been listening about the closure of the HBFC quite long time and accepted its appeal against the high court decision, which allowed increase in the salaries of the HBFC in 2018. Meanwhile, the SC bench sought the arguments for clubbing the sentences in four different crimes related to bank accounts fraud when it heard the plea of Mohammad Hussain, who was convicted in four different fraud cases.
The court observed the sentences can be clubbed if the different crimes related to one incident are committed. How sentences of different crimes committed at different times can be clubbed, the court questioned.
The counsel for the convict argued that sentences were awarded to his client from 2012 to 2013. He was sentenced for more than four years in three cases and in one case for seven years. The court after hearing the arguments sought more comments in the case.
